Story
How It All Started...
On September 10, 2000, 18 families said "yes" to God's leading to birth a new church. We started with a simple but ambitious vision: to see God change the growing community of Lewis Center. We began meeting in Arrowhead Elementary School. Five years later we bought our land and built our building. And now, many years later, God is still moving and the vision remains the same - introducing people to Jesus and living together in His kingdom.
The Cross Of Kingdom Living
The Cross Of Kingdom Living is at the core of our ministry. We want it to impact all aspects of live. Simply put, it is the message of the Gospel: Christ in you to change you.
When we become Christians, we receive forgiveness for our sins and are reconciled into a relationship with God But forgiveness and reconciliation are the beginning of Christian life, not the end. We are also invited to live in the Kingdom of Heaven right now. The Kingdom of Heaven is the place where God's will is done as we live in the light of His perfect intentions toward us.
As we live in God's Kingdom, His grace continues to come to us and we begin to receive and experience new life from within us. Christ is in us to change us as we take up the Cross Of Kingdom Living (Matthew 16:24-25).
We begin to be transformed into the image of Jesus: the mind, character and life of Christ. This new life enables us to bring God glory in all that we are and all that we do.
Scripture is filled with calls to train in Christlikeness. One example is found in Paul's prayers for the believers in Philippi:
"I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ's return. May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation - the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ - for this will bring much glory and praise to God." (Philippians 1:9-11)
