Colossians

In his letter to the Colossians, the Holy Spirit led Paul to highlight the true Christ along with our appropriate response to Him. He shows Christ's superiority over all things, including any and every human philosophy and tradition. He presents a Christ that is absolutely supreme and completely sufficient for all things.

Why a Scripture notebook?

Engaging deeply with the Bible is the number one predictor of a growing relationship with the Lord. Study Bibles, apps, and other resources can be very helpful, but they can also be distracting. This Scripture notebook will give us all a simple presentation of God’s Word along with space to take notes during the sermon, jot down thoughts on our own, and even mark up the text when we notice themes and phrases that stick out. Here are some ways you might consider marking up the text.

Notebooks are available at the Pathways table in the lobby with a suggested donation of $4.00.

Why are we using the Christian Standard Bible (CSB) for this series?

Engaging deeply with the Bible is only possible when we use a reliable, accurate, readable translation. The CSB is such a translation, combining a faithful translation of original manuscripts with a natural reading style suited to today’s readers. Of course, many people have a favorite translation or even a Bible you’ve been using for years and years. Reading a beloved translation is wonderful for many reasons. But it is also true that reading a different translation often opens doors to deeper engagement as familiar passages capture our attention in fresh ways.
