If you were at Grace Point on Sunday, you know that we started our Advent series.
Throughout Advent, we will be looking at some favorite Christmas carols. This week we began with Hark, the Herald Angels Sing.
"Hark" means to stop and listen — something that is very difficult to do at this time of the year. We find ourselves filling our schedules with activities and celebrations and shopping and decorating. Very rarely does Jesus get our undivided attention. It takes a little intentional planning and resolve to seek a few quiet moments with the Savior during the season.
So remember: Enjoy Him. Thank Him for the ways He's blessed you. Give Him the stresses and frustrations that weigh you down. Do you long for peace during the hectic pace of the holidays? Read Psalm 85:8. It says, "I will hear what God the Lord will say, for He will speak peace to His people..."
Stop. Hark. Listen. Only then will you experience the joy of Christmas as fully as God intends.
