What is a Life Group? A Life Group is a small group of people that get together regularly to have fun, develop closer relationships, and to challenge each other to grow in their walk with Christ. They are a vital component in fulfilling our vision of discipleship at Grace Point. Why are Life Groups Important? We believe that Christians do not grow in isolation. We need others around us so we can “know and be known, love and be loved, serve and be served, celebrate and be celebrated”. We need friends to pick us up when we fall down, encourage us when we want to give up, and challenge us when we get lazy. These relationships stretch us, strengthen us, and form the bonds that are vital to our spiritual growth. When these bonds are strong, our connection to the Church is deeper than when we participate only in Sunday morning worship services. Many lament that churches feel “too big” or “too impersonal”. Life Groups provide a way to be closely connected to the Body of Christ no matter the size of the congregation. Leader(s) | Group Description | Meeting Place | Meeting Time | Child care | Contact Information | Dave and Peggy Armstrong | “The Empty Nesters” Our life group meets every Thursday for spiritual encouragement, prayer, Bible study, and fellowship. The group often gets into lively discussion about Bible passages and how they apply in our lives. And the snacks are great! We are known as the "empty nesters" because most of our members have grown or nearly grown children. | 5805 Streamside Drive, Galena | Thursdays, 7:00-9:00pm | No | (614) 846-2661 | Mike and Beth Blankenship | If you are new to the church or just new to the life group experience, this is a great opportunity to get involved with a group from it’s beginning. | "Whatever" If you have ever heard your kid say " whatever" it probably has little meaning except they don't want to talk anymore. As a parent of a young person the "whatever" actually has alot of meaning, albeit unsaid. Our NEW and currently forming Life Group focuses on the parent/child relationship and how to start off, persevere and guide kids into Godly adults. While learning about ourselves and our relationship with our Father. We welcome anyone with kids of any age, the current age group is Middle School and High School, that desires to deepen their relationship with God and their kids.
