Welcome to the exciting world of Children's Ministry here at Grace Point Community Church! Our desire is that each boy and girl encounters Jesus as he/she is taught Biblical truths. The goal is that each child will come to know Jesus in a personal way and grow in Him. Our dedicated staff of teachers works unselfishly to model and teach the love of our Savior, seeking changed hearts and minds. Our intent is to prayerfully seek God's will and carry out His plans for the lives of the children.
We seek to serve every child and every family...thank you for the privilege of serving your family.

If you are interested in serving one or more weeks per month, and love children please contact Pastor Steve. We provide full training that ensures a positive and safe experience for you and the children. All Children’s workers are screened and interviewed by the Children’s Pastor.
What is expected of you?
- Please label everything and provide diapers, etc. for your child.
- Please no personal toys. Our nursery is equipped with age appropriate toys.
- Please notify the staff if your child has any special needs or any food allergies (snacks are given to the toddlers each week).
- Infants are only given snacks/bottles if you provide them. Please give specific instructions for the preparation of your child's bottle or snack.
- Check-in your child at the room by getting his/her name badge and claim tag. Attach the name badge to the back of your child's top, and keep the claim tag with you during the service. This tag is required for child pick-up. No child will be given to anyone without the matching claim tag.
- Regular attenders are also required to show their ID cards when dropping off and picking up their child.
What if you are needed to help with your child?
You will see the number on your claim tag displayed on the screen in church. If you miss seeing your number displayed, an usher will contact you. If your child needs you, you will definitely be contacted.
Nursing mothers
The infant room is generally staffed only by women. You are welcome to nurse your child in the infant room and may use the private area that is provided.
Diapers and potty training
Diapers that you provide will be used. If needed, each room is provided with extra diapers in case of "an emergency". If your child needs to be changed, he or she will be changed on a changing pad in view of both workers. Only adult women staff will change children. If your child is potty training please notify the staff. We will do our best to assist you in this transition. Your child will be taken to the bathroom at his/her request. If unable to verbalize his/her need to use the bathroom then please provide "pull-ups" or diapers. Your child will never be placed in the bathroom alone or with only one adult.
We are dedicated to providing a safe, loving, fun, and comfortable environment where Gods love can be shown to you and your children.
Four, Five year olds and Kindergarten classes will be taught Bible lesson through stories and games. Through Movers and Shakers (Gospel Light's curriculum), the teachers will help the children to grow more aware of God's love, care and help in their everyday lives. Young children have unique needs. Their understanding of the world is limited. And their most effective method of learning is through play! Movers and Shakers will give each one a chance to actively explore Bible truths in ways that involve the whole child. They will discover ways to do what they have learned in class, so Bible truths are applied in ways that have real meaning for their lives.
What is expected of you?
Check-in your child your child’s room. You will be given a name badge and a tag claim tag. Attach the name badge to the back of your child's top, and keep the claim tag with you during the service. This tag is required for child pick-up. No child will be given to anyone without the matching claim tag.

In Kids Quest, we partner with parents to help children discover and live the truths of God. Each session will include an early arriver activity, worship, Bible study, and small group study. Your child will bring home a Refrigerator Door and God Time Cards each week to help you continue to push the point from Sunday throughout the week.
Our ministry program, designed for fifth graders, is called TM 4:12. We meet twice a month to prepare our children for the next step, “Youth Ministry!” We will also participate in several events during the year designed specifically for our TM 421 students.
AWANA is an international, Bible-centered children's and youth ministry providing local churches with weekly clubs and programs. Their goal is to equip churches to reach children and teenagers, and their families, with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. The acronym AWANA comes from the first letters of Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed, taken from 2 Timothy 2:15.
Our AWANA club meets at Grace Point for children in Kindergarten through Sixth grade on Wednesday evenings 6:30pm - 8:30pm during the school year.
If you have any questions or would like additional information please email awanacommander@gracepoint.cc.

The Awana club for children in kindergarten through second grade builds on the material taught in our preschool club. The aim of the curriculum is to take youngsters a step deeper into God’s Word while giving unsaved boys and girls regular opportunities to hear the gospel and come to faith in Jesus Christ. After being immersed in solid foundational teaching at the preschool level, boys and girls frequently come to an understanding of their need to trust Christ as their personal Savior while in Sparks |
|
Immersing kids in God’s Word
The Sparks program is firmly grounded in Scripture. The three handbooks feature:
- Basic truths about God, Jesus Christ, salvation and the Bible
- An increased emphasis on Scripture memory over our preschool materials. In three years, a child will learn and review 68 verses, many of which cover salvation and key Christian doctrine
- Clear and consistent presentation of the gospel message
Fun + learning = results
Sparks club meetings combine learning with fun to create an atmosphere of irresistible excitement for churched and unchurched kids alike. Club meetings are divided into three segments:
- Bible teaching, worship, award presentations and the gospel message
- Small group interaction and completion of Bible-based lessons
- Age-appropriate games on the Awana game circle
- Along the way, Sparky, the friendly firefly, encourages boys and girls to learn verses and complete assignments throughout the three handbooks.

The name Truth & Training reflects the passion of Awana to teach third- through sixth-grade boys and girls the truth of God’s Word and to train them to follow Christ in their daily lives. Our goal is that many of today’s young people will become tomorrow’s church leaders. T&T is the program that trains the leaders of tomorrow — today. |

Exciting features to get kids excited about God’s Word
T&T is equipped with a variety of dynamic tools to accomplish this mission:
- Four handbooks of increasing difficulty which teach children that life’s ultimate adventure is a personal relationship with Jesus Christ
- A cast of fun characters that boys and girls learn from and follow on interesting journeys in the handbooks
- Weekly meetings that expose children to the gospel message, Scripture memory, Bible study, awards, team-oriented games and gut-busting fun
- A Bible-centered curriculum that helps kids build a firm foundation for their faith, hide God’s Word in their heart and apply the truths of Scripture to their daily lives
- Interactive CDs that use exciting high-tech games to teach and reinforce key biblical truths
Evangelism and discipleship go hand in hand in our third- through sixth-grade program. By the time a child has completed T&T, he will have:
- Learned and reviewed approximately 310 verses
- Studied dozens of passages from the Old and New Testament
- Regularly heard and read the gospel message
- Discovered the Bible’s response to questions like “How does God want me to live my life?” and memorized verses to back up these answers
- Completed missions projects that help him see the world through God’s eyes.
